Nails of the Week: Essie In the Cab-ana

I debated for weeks about whether or not I should by this polish. I only have a million tealy-blue polishes, did I really need another?
Well, yes, I did.

It's a weird shade, in some light it looks like it leans more green, while it also has a slight storminess to it as well.

It isn't as bright as it comes across in some swatches I've seen online, and in my own swatches.

But that doesn't make it less gorgeous. It's a perfect summer blue.

Nails of the Week: China Glaze Purple Panic

So last week's manicure was an oldie, but a goodie.

I don't even remember the last time I pulled this out, but seeing as this is my Summer of Neon I couldn't go three months without wearing one of the first neons I'd ever purchased.

I'd forgotten how gorgeous it is, I might be bringing it back for round two this summer.

The formula was a bit thick, but that could be because I've had this bottle for a few years. A few drops of thinner got it back to a workable formula. It's a satiny-matte finish when worn without top coat; I wore seche vite over top.

The only issue I had with it was that it chipped faster than my polishes tend to. I get an average of 5 days wear normally, but this one only lasted 3.

Nails of the Week: Canada Day Edition!

Happy Canada Day everyone!

I don't usually do theme nails, but Canada Day is the exception. What better way to celebrate my favourite country's birthday than with a shiny new manicure?

I've already expressed my love for Color Club's Halo Hues collection (my favourite collection in years) and now I'm rediscovering a love for China Glaze's Tronica collection from 2011.

I don't think I've worn 3D Fantasy before, but I have no idea why not because it's GORGEOUS!

Just look how pretty!

I couldn't take my eyes off it while I was out driving today. Here is a shot in direct sunlight while sitting in the car. (It was parked!)

So pretty!

Application was a dream and top coat didn't dull the holo effect.

It's like little fireworks on my nails!

A macro shot of the scattered glitter.

A macro shot of that gorgeous, gorgeous holo.

Nails of the Week: China Glaze Jackie Oh!

This is much more fushia than it photographs. It’s the bane of my neon polish loving existence that they don’t photograph well. Granted, I am just using my iphone camera and not my proper camera, but nevertheless, this isn’t as coral as the photo suggests. I originally bought the Poptastic collection as a set from Winners, but bought Jackie-Oh! and Edie (not pictured) separately from nailpolishcanada.com a month ago.

Yesterday I got bored and threw some polka dots on for the last day of this manicure.

I love this polish, but I have so many neons I'm not sure when I'll get around to wearing this one again. Polish problems. Whomp whomp.

Nails of the Week: China Glaze Pool Party

This week I'm wearing China Glaze's Pool Party because the sun is out and the temperature is getting hotter and there is nothing better than crazy-bright nails in the summer.

With flash

As usual, neons are hard to photograph, but it's still gorgeous.

Nails of the Week: China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle

This week I'm wearing a new China Glaze, Too Yacht To Handle from the Sunsational collection.

I am loving this colour, even though I expected it to be less green leaning and more blue leaning when I ordered it online. It's bright (not as neon as I'd hoped, but it's still satisfyingly bright).

The first coat was streaky, but it evened out with the second coat. I'm wearing three coats in the picture.

This polish isn't the last in my quest to find that perfect neon teal; I'm still on the lookout for that perfect eye-searingly bright teal, but in the meantime I'll rock this one happily this summer.

Nails of the Week: American Apparel Neon Red

The sun is out and that always puts me in the mood for bright, bold colours. This picture doesn't even come close to the true brightness of American Apparel's Neon Red.

But neither does this one really. The colour is a bright neon orange, but looks more coral next to Colour Club's Wham! Pow!, which I'm wearing on my toes.

I wore this colour pretty much all summer last year and I'll probably be wearing it a lot this summer too. Well, along with all my other neons.

It's been a while!

I didn't mean for my hiatus to go on so long, but to appease my one reader, here is a picture of my polish collection!

I have a couple posts in the works, so hopefully I'll get the ball rolling again.

Nails of the Week: OPI Suzie's Hungary Again!

Wearing OPI's Suzie's Hungary Again! from the Euro Centrale collection this week.

I got a cute scarf to match!

Also, my eyeliner was crazy that day.

Nails of the Week: Essie's Butler Please

As much as I love the OPI Euro Centrale collection I couldn't go more than a few days without putting Essie's Butler Please back on.

Colour Club Halo Hues Collection

Nail polish is my weakness.

Well, one of my weaknesses.

And holo polishes are my ultimate nail polish-related weakness.

It's like wearing little sparkly rainbows on your nails!

So, a few weeks ago I got a reminder email from Nailpolishcanada.com about their Seche Vite sale and I figured I should order a couple bottles while the sale was on. And that's when I discovered that all the Colour Club Halo Hues collection was back in stock, much to the chagrin of no one, because LOOK AT HOW PRETTY!

I originally debated on whether or not I should buy these because I have a lot of nail polish and I technically don't need new polish, but LOOK AT HOW PRETTY!

And LOOK AT HOW PRETTY! won in the end.

As it always does.

Top L-R: Angel Kiss, Blue Heaven, Cherubic, Bottom L-R: Cloud Nine, Halo-Graphic, Harp On It

So far I've tried out 3 of the 6. I'm currently wearing Blue Heaven on my toes and Halo-Graphic on my nails. Below is a photo of me wearing Cloud Nine last week.

Cloud Nine

The holo-ness of the polishes are quite strong and the wear is pretty fantastic. I usually don't get a long wear time with Colour Club polishes. I had Cloud Nine on for 6 days before I took it off; there was some tip wear and only one chip, and that was because I used my thumb nail to peel off a price sticker on something.

A close-up of Cloud Nine

I'm currently on day 5 of wearing Halo-Graphic, and it's still going strong (again, aside from one chip that I got from using my thumb nail to pick off a price sticker. WE CAN PUT HUMANS ON THE MOON BUT WE CAN'T MAKE A EASY PEEL-OFF PRICE TAG?!)

I also just got 4 of the Mariah Carey OPI polishes and  I am itching to try them out, but also dying to wear the other 3 holos I haven't worn yet. Oh woe is me.

Halo-Graphic, with flash.
